The Severn Wye Energy Agency worked in partnership with South Gloucestershire Council and the Local Authorities across Gloucestershire to deliver over £1 million of funding for first time central heating systems for fuel poor householders in the region. This work was delivered by installers registered on the Link to Energy network. Please see scheme information below.
This funding of up to £4000 can be used to fund (or part fund) the install of mains gas central heating systems (oil / LPG boilers & renewable heating are possible in some circumstances) in fuel poor homes that do not currently have central heating. So typically replacing electric panel heaters, solid fuel stoves and open fires. The objective of this funding from the Department for Energy & Climate Change (DECC) is to help cut bills and increase comfort in non-gas homes.
We are also working in partnership with Wales & West Utilities to identify and connect households to the mains gas network where possible so that these homes can also benefit from this funding scheme.
The agreement with the Local Authorities only allows companies registered on the Link to Energy directory to receive referrals from householders who are hoping to benefit from the funding. The Severn Wye Energy Agency alongside South Gloucestershire and Gloucestershire Councils will be promoting the funding across the region, directing householders to call the Warm & Well advice line (0800 500 3076) to confirm eligibility and to begin the application process.
If you are interested in being a part of the scheme and would like to potentially receive referrals from customers looking to install a central heating system, please read the ‘Link to Energy installer agreement’ document which can be found below. Please then return the signed and dated final page to neilt@severnwye.org.uk You can send this by post (Severn Wye Energy Agency, Unit 15 Highnam Business Centre, Highnam, Gloucestershire GL2 8DN) or email a scanned copy.
